Sloppy Joes from scratch are one of my go to weeknight meals. While it's packed with flavor, it can be ready in under 30 minutes. I love using my Can Cooker Jr. on the road and at home. For this recipe I'm using the MultiFuel Portable Cooktop, but you can also make it in your kitchen at home!
1 pound ground venison
1 medium onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
8 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
Salt and Pepper, if desired
4-6 Hamburger buns
1. In a non-stick CanCooker Jr. add diced onions and bell peppers to the CanCooker and cook on a medium-low heat until the onions are translucent.
2. Add ground venison to the onion and pepper mixture and cook until the venison is browned.
3. Add in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and chili powder. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
4. Taste and add any salt or pepper if desired. Serve immediately on hamburger buns.
