Venison Steak with a Parmesan Cream Sauce

I am a hunter, angler and wild game chef.
I am a self-taught chef, hunter, angler, and author. I grew up in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, where my father raised me to love the outdoors. He had me fishing pretty much as soon as I could walk on my own and is also largely responsible for my love for hunting—by taking me out to hunt while I was in high school. Some of my fondest memories with him involve the outdoors, and I feel blessed to be able to have done these things at such a young age. This goes hand in hand with getting home from the hunt. My mother fueled my interest in cooking delicious meals starting at a young age as well. She and I would get together almost every night and try new recipes. Our running joke was that I was the daughter who was always hungry and always asking, “What’s for dinner?” I never imaged these two joys would continue to be such a big part of my life to this day.
